Now working as a motivational speaker, Belfort has speaking chops which are apparent in his parody video as he delivers multiple iconic lines from the movie, including “ We’re not f***ing leaving!” and “ They’re going to need a f***ing wrecking ball to take us out of here!” Along with sharing the parody video, Belfort sent out a tweet with the hashtag “ Hold the line,” which has been the mantra of r/WallStreetBets since the GameStop stock debacle began.
He went on to slam RobinHood, Wall Street, and hedge funds as “ hypocrites.” Although, Belfort’s primary message was to not be intimidated by Wall Street. The scene has also spawned many memes and provided inspiration for a few different spoofs over the past decade. Belfort's tirade is passionate, intense, hilarious at times, and one of the most memorable parts of the film. The former stockbroker’s recent video parodies a scene from The Wolf of Wall Street in which Jordan Belfort, portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio, intends to deliver a farewell speech to his investment firm Stratton Oakmont, but decides to stay in the middle of the speech. The film was a massive hit at the box office along with critics due to its powerhouse performances, scathing satire, and dark comedy. Jordan Belfort fully embraced his Wolf of Wall Street persona to encourage GameStop traders in a parody video, telling them to “hold the line.” The 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street was directed by Martin Scorsese and based on Belfort’s 2007 memoir of the same name.
